Theodore Bailey Obituary

CHICHESTER- Mr. Theodore G. “Ted” Bailey, 91, of Chichester, passed away peacefully at home on July 21, 2021 after a period of declining health.

Born in Pittsfield, Ted was the son of the late Merton and Helen (Zurek) Bailey.  He was raised and educated in Chichester and remained a lifelong resident.  Ted enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1951 and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict.

Upon returning from the war, Ted went on to work as a State Trooper for the New Hampshire State Police.  In later years, he worked as a truck driver for Clark’s Grain Store.

Long active in community affairs, Ted was a longtime member of the Chichester Fire Department, joining in 1948.  He rose to the rank of captain, where he remained for 20 years. He also served on the Board of Selectmen for several years.

He enjoyed gardening and woodworking.

Ted was predeceased by his wives, Edna Bailey and Lillian Bailey.

He is survived by his stepchildren: Robert Gelinas and his wife Cindy, Roberta Marsh and her husband David, Elaine Duford and her husband Bob and Joanne Gelinas Snow and her husband Arthur; his grandchildren, Robert Gelinas III, Ryan Gelinas and Lisa Duford; his great grandchildren, Gavin, Avree and Mason as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
