PEMBROKE- Mr. Robert J. “Bob” Saulnier, Sr., 75, of Pembroke, passed away suddenly at home on June 29, 2021.
Born in St. Antoine, New Brunswick, Canada, Bob was the son of the late Aubin and Marie (Poirier) Saulnier. He came to the United States at the age of 9 and lived in New York and Massachusetts before settling in New Hampshire in 1979.
Prior to his retirement, Bob was employed in the construction industry as a Project Manager for several companies and later worked as Project Superintendent for MacMillan Co., Inc.
A true “jack of all trades,” Bob enjoyed challenging projects and solving building dilemmas. There was no project or problem he couldn’t conquer. He also enjoyed old cars, working around his yard and especially traveling in his motorhome with his wife.
Bob was predeceased by his son, Robert J. Saulnier, Jr.; his brothers, Levi and Alfred Saulnier; his brother-in-law, Stephen Patterson and his mother and father-in-law, Harold and Madeline Boynton.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Rebecca “Becky” (Boynton) Saulnier; his daughter, Sue Whitney and her partner John Yarbrough, Jr. of Belmont; his two grandchildren: Julie-Anne Whitney and her wife Bess Moser of Somerville, MA and Robert J. Saulnier, III of Laconia. He is also survived by his siblings: Marianne Dechene and her husband William of PA, Bernard Saulnier and his wife Shirley of FL, Berthe Saulnier and her husband Joseph of St. Antoine, Canada and Freda LeBlanc and her partner Roy Howard of Orange, MA as well as his sister-in-law, Kathy Patterson of Cushing, ME.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Monday, July 5th from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. in the Petit-Roan Funeral Home 167 Main St. in Pembroke. A brief time of remembrance will take place at 12:45PM.
