ALLENSTOWN – Robert W. “Bob” Belanger, 79, of Allenstown, passed away peacefully and with his family by his side on Saturday, November 6, 2021.
Born on June 26, 1942 in Manchester, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Yvonne (Beliveau) Belanger.
Robert was educated in the local schools and proudly went on to serve his country in the United States Army National Guard and was later drafted into the Army until he was honorably discharged in 1969. He worked for over 30 years as a salesman for Sears selling a variety of things throughout his time there.
Bob spent many years as a cook in the Army and it was a skill he truly enjoyed and carried with him through the years. He enjoyed helping others either through rides, bringing food or fixing things. He enjoyed listening to and playing music as well as spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who brought him great joy. He will be missed not only by his family but by the many people he helped through the years.
He is survived by his wife Madeleine (Dupont) with whom he shared 53 years of marriage, his daughters, Brenda Marston and her husband Gary of Epsom and Linda Tully and her husband John of Flemington, NJ. He was a Papa to four grandchildren, David Marston, Dollie Marston, Lauren Tully and Jack Tully.
A Visitation will be held in St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown on Wednesday, November 10th from 9:30am-10:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen at 12:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made either to the Disabled American Veterans, 399 Silver Street, Manchester, NH 03103 or to the American Cancer Society, 2 Commerce Drive #110, Bedford, NH 03110.
