PITTSFIELD- Mr. Richard H. Stock, Jr., 75, of Pittsfield, passed away suddenly on August 4, 2021 at the Concord Hospital after a period of declining health.
A lifelong Pittsfield resident, Richard was the son of the late Richard H. and Constance (Harper) Stock. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served his country during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1969 with the rank of Corporal and was a Purple Heart Recipient.
Prior to his retirement, Richard was employed as a weaver and later as a Production Supervisor for Pittsfield Weaving, where he remained for over 40 years.
Richard enjoyed afternoon coffee at Bell Brothers with “the guys.” He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending quality time blueberry picking with his daughters and grandchildren, as well as trips to Pittsburg for camping. Above all else, his life revolved around family, especially his grandchildren and his great grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Adora L. (Bedell) Stock, and his two daughters, Robin Morris and her husband David of Gilmanton and Jody Cunningham and her husband Paul of Pittsfield. He was the beloved “Poppy” to his grandchildren, Samantha, Jacob, Jossie, Zakaria, Bryce, Kassidy, Damian, Dylan and Olivia and his great grandchildren, Rayanne, Avarie, Addilyn, and Maverick. He was the brother to Henry Stock.
Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, August 10th from 5 to 7 P.M. in the Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home 1217 Suncook Valley Highway in Epsom. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, August 11th at 11 A.M. in Floral Park Cemetery in Pittsfield.
