Rene A. Vayens

PENACOOK – Rene A. Vayens, 70, of Penacook, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021 peacefully in his sleep.

Born on September 12, 1951 in Nashua, he was the son of Lorraine F. (Stiles) Vayens and the late William L. Vayens, Sr.

Rene was raised and educated in Derry, instead of completing High School he considered it more important to fight for his country in the United States Army, later earning his GED through the Military. He fought proudly for many years and was held captive for 6 months before being released and coming home. Rene was a helper, he loved to care for and help others in any way that he could, he was considered a friend by many of those living in his building and will be greatly missed. He enjoyed playing the guitar, was an amazing artist, an avid NE sports fan and an extremely spiritual person, he was one of a kind.

Besides his father, he was predeceased by his brother, Arthur R. Vayens, III.

He is survived by his children, Alberta Vayens, Sueren McKinnon and her husband Zach and Rene M. Vayens, stepchildren, David Thomas, Charisa Kazlauskas, Siobhan Leclerc and Benjamin Vayens, siblings, Bernie Crane, William L. Vayens, Jr., Kathy Lowell and Heidi Houghton, grandchildren, Catherine, Benjamin, Aryanah, Briella, William, Nolan, Sophie, Wyatt, Dylan, Mackenzie, Aiden, Keegan, Sierra, Nadia, John as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service for Rene and his father William Vayens, Sr. will be held on Monday, November 29th at 1:30pm at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
