CENTER BARNSTEAD – Philip E. Sorant, 70, of Center Barnstead passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side after a long hard fight against Acute Myeloid Leukemia followed by COVID complications.
Phil grew up and was educated in Bloomfield, CT and graduated from Dean College. As a young man Phil was eager to learn as much as he could. He was a 2nd degree Black Belt in Karate, a Certified Scuba Diver, a Licensed Air and Sea Pilot, CDL Driver, Security Officer, Master Carpenter, Published Author, Website designer and most recently (something he especially enjoyed) a School Bus Driver for Barnstead Elementary School for the past 6 years.
He is survived by his wife Irene (Christophel) Sorant, sons, Marshal Cook and his wife Hannah Rojke, Joshuah Cook and his significant other Alyssa Campbell, Greg Christophel and his significant other, Ellie Giles, and son Kyle Sorant, brother, Peter E. Sorant of Slidell LA, MaryJane Sorant of Allenstown, granddaughter, Harper Cook, nieces and nephews. Phil offered much wisdom and knowledge to those who were willing to listen. He was a very warm-hearted caring man and was always willing to help anyone in need, he will be missed and remembered by all those who knew him.
