Michael E. Holfelder, 64

LOUDON – Michael E. Holfelder, 64, of Loudon, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at his residence.

Born on April 19, 1955 in Queens, NY, he was the son of the late Paul E. Holfelder and Virginia (Kearns) Taylor.

Michael was educated in the local schools and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army. He received his Master’s Degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson and Wales and had most recently been employed at the Manchester School of Technology in the Culinary Program.

Michael was known for being a very generous person. He enjoyed a wide variety of activities from cooking, playing words with friends, collecting trinkets, watching his favorite Nascar driver, Mark Martin racing as well as his travels taken on cruise ships.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Somyk) Holfelder of Loudon with whom he shared 23 years of marriage; children, Jamie, Jennifer, Kimberly, Karla, Susan, Robert and Rebecca; sister, Kathy Goeke and her husband Bill of Stroudsburg, PA, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three nephews and one niece.
