Marina (Kontos) Parmenter

PEMBROKE- Marina (Kontos) Parmenter, 70, of Pembroke, passed away January 13, 2023, days before her 71st birthday.  Marina was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Born in Concord on January 16, 1952, Marina was the daughter of the late Alexander and Rena Kontos, the co-owners of Louis’ Diner in Concord.  She was raised and educated in Concord and was a graduate of Concord High School. She later graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Business from Hesser College.

For over 35 years Marina worked tirelessly as business manager of Kimball’s Market in Pembroke.  More recently, Marina managed a storage facility in Boscawen.

Marina enjoyed home cooking, gardening, and she delighted in bird watching and traveling around New England and across the country.  Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Marina was predeceased by her brother, Larry Kontos, and her beloved parents.

Marina was a devoted mother to, and also is survived by, her daughter Magara Parmenter of Pembroke; two sisters, Pandora Trudo of Amherst, NH and Diana Nason of Norfolk, MA, and their children. In addition, Marina shared a special bond with her grandnieces and grandnephew, Emily, Lucy, Aly, and Teddy.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 28th from 1 to 3 P.M. at The Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main St. in Pembroke.  Burial will take place privately at a later date.  To share a memory or offer a condolence, please visit www.roanfamilyfuneral.com
