Lynne O'Brien Obituary

HOOKSETT - Lynne Fogg O’Brien passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved her most on Friday, May 19th 2023 after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

She was born on December 11, 1948 to Edna (Butters) and George Fogg of North Reading, MA. She spent her early childhood there before moving to Hooksett, NH and remained in that area until her passing.

Lynne graduated from high school and attended a 1 year secretarial school at Hesser College. She then went on to have several fulfilling positions throughout her career- dispatching and weighing trucks for JJCronin, as a call fire-fighter on South Hooksett Fire Department, and at her longtime employer, Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital in the facilities department.

She was an avid animal lover and a moose fanatic. She loved the Montreal Canadians and is remembered fondly by her grandchildren to proudly sing “Oh Canada' at the top of her lungs, in her custom “Grammy” Canadians jersey at the Boston TD Garden.

If there was one thing Lynne was, she was honest- she always told it like it was, with no sugar coating. She was also kind and generous to those she loved- making it a point not to miss a single one of her grandchildren’s concerts, sports games, 4H events and achievement ceremonies. More than that- she took the time to take her grandchildren on adventures in search of dinosaur fossils, miniature horses, trips to Amish Country and Canada along with whatever other interest fascinated them throughout their youth.

Lynne was predeceased by her parents, Edna & George Fogg and her husband of 30 years, Raymond O’Brien.

She is survived by her grandchildren whom she cherished, Aiden (Kelsie) and Karleigh (Brian) O’Brien; her great-granddaughter, Bailey Dwyer; her closest confidant and dear cousin, Alice Ann Matheny and life long friend, Janyce Robie Demers along with many close friends and coworkers who loved her dearly and will miss her fiery spirit. Lastly, She is survived by her beloved boy, her cat Lucky.

As was her wish, there will be no services at this time. Burial will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, her grandchildren ask that donations be made to SAFER Feline Education and Rescue or Hero Pups- Support Dogs for Veterans in Lynne’s memory.
