ALLENSTOWN – John J. Collins, III, 54 of Allenstown, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on February 25, 1967 in Newton, MA, he was the son of the late John J. and Margaret “Peggy” (Magni) Collins, II.
John was moved at a young age to Plaistow, NH and was a 1985 graduate of Timberlane High School. Immediately following his high school graduation, John enlisted in the United States Army and served a tour of duty in the Gulf War. Upon returning home he went into the National Guard where he served with the 744 Transport Division out of Hillsborough. He worked part time as an auxiliary State Trooper as well as part time with the Sandown police department. From a young age John had an interest in cars, he was employed for many years by Enterprise as an Automotive Technician and loved his job. In his spare time, he could be found working on cars, building model cars or watching Nascar races.
Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his father-in-law, Gerard Bourcier.
He is survived by his wife Maureen (Bourcier) Collins of Allenstown with whom he shared 29 years, daughter, Erin Mae Collins of Allenstown, sister, Carol McKellar, niece Lily McKellar, mother-in-law, Jeannette Bourcier of Allenstown.
Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from 5PM-7PM at the Petit-Roan Funeral Home, 167 Main Street, Pembroke. All guests must wear face-coverings and are encouraged to follow CDC & DHHS Guidelines regarding COVID safety. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 10AM at St. John the Baptist Church, Allenstown.
