John R. Bennette, Jr.

STRAFFORD- Mr. John R. Bennette, Jr., 68, of Strafford, passed away on July 2, 2021 at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital after a short period of declining health.

Born in Portland, ME, John was the son of the late John R. Bennette, Sr. and Gloria (Plaisted) Bennette.  Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.

Following his military service, John served as a culinary arts apprentice and later worked as a salesman for Donahue Brothers Inc. for 30 years.

He enjoyed the outdoors and time with his family.

John is survived by his beloved wife of  35 years, Diane (Baker) Bennette; his children, Alex Czerwinski of Barnstead, Jamie Bennette of Strafford, Ross Bennette of Chichester and Carrie Hilton of New Gloucester.  He was the brother of Sharon Dyer of Hollis. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, one nephew and one niece
