Helen M. Audet

CENTER BARNSTEAD- Mrs. Helen M. (Maxim) Audet, 81, of Center Barnstead, passed away at the Epsom Healthcare Center on May 7, 2021 after a period of declining health.

Born in Auburn, ME, Helen was the daughter of the late Lewis and Maude (Foss) Maxim.  She was raised and educated in Turner, Maine and graduated in the top 10 of her class at Leavitt Institute. 

Long active in civic affairs, Helen was the past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 86 in Gray, ME and headed up many committees. She was also a member of The Eagles Club in Maine.  She attended the Turner Grange for many years.  Helen volunteered her time making baskets for children at Christmas and participated in various fundraising efforts for the Legion throughout the years.  She enjoyed playing bingo and doing crossword puzzles.

Helen was predeceased by her infant sister, Gloria Elaine and her two son-in-laws, Michael McMann and Kevin Maynard.

Helen is survived by her two daughters: Judy Blake Maynard of Center Barnstead and Debra McMann of Concord.  She was the grandmother to Jason McMann and Gunner, Kymmy Bent and husband Russell, Ryan Maynard and wife Luci and David Maynard and wife Mina.  She was very proud of her great grandchildren, Mya, Mickayla, Christopher, Hailey and Briana along with her three great great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her two stepchildren: Danny Audet and Linda Lizzott.  Other family members were the late Robert Blake and her “adopted” sister, Barbara Cameron along with her niece and nephew, Mary and Edward Cameron.

A walk-through visitation will be held on Friday, May 14th from 5 to 7 P.M. in the Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home 1217 Suncook Valley Highway in Epsom.  All attendees are kindly asked to wear face-coverings and adhere to social distancing as directed.  A celebration of life and burial in Keens Mill Cemetery in Turner, ME will be held at a later date.  To share a memory or offer a condolence, please visit www.stilloaks.com
