MANCHESTER – Gustave Schunemann, 74, of Manchester, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Elliot Hospital following a period of declining health and a brief battle with Covid-19.
Born in Manchester on November 5, 1947, he was the son of the late Edmond G. and Beatrice (Gentis) Schunemann.
Gustave worked for many years as an association with Dollar Rental Car until his retirement. He enjoyed watching car races, playing horseshoes and going fishing. He was a kidder and enjoyed giving friends and family a hard time any chance he could.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Betty Jobin and a Stepson, Heath Lear.
He is survived by his wife Catherine (Bandemer) Schunemann of Manchester, with whom he shared 38 years of marriage, children, Wendy Schunemann of Manchester, Eric Schunemann of Manchester and Catherine Schunemann of Manchester, siblings, Beth, Ed, Joann and Rena, six grandchildren, Marsha, Madison, Destiny, Haley, Dominic and Melloni, six great grandchildren, Jaina, Xander, Madeline, Camielya, Samuel and Ronan as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
