Grace F. (Joy) Locke

PITTSFIELD- Mrs. Grace F. (Joy) Locke, 80, of Pittsfield, passed away unexpectedly on July 26, 2020 at Concord Hospital after a sudden illness.

Born in Pittsfield, Grace was the daughter of the late Calvin C. and Gladys (Fifield) Joy.  She was raised and educated in Pittsfield and was a lifelong resident of the town, proudly spending nearly 62 years in the same home.

In earlier years, Grace worked in the local shoe shop industry.  She later was employed at Pleasant View Gardens and DS Cole Growers, where she was a “jack of all trades.”  Her main focus was always her family, raising her five children.

Grace doted on her family and was an extremely proud mother and grandmother.  She cherished her time with them above all else.  She also enjoyed traveling, walking, talking on the phone, going for coffee with her longtime companion Ed Canfield and will be remembered as a great storyteller.

She was predeceased by her husband, Milton D. Locke, Sr, her granddaughter, Amanda Wells and her siblings: Helen, Lorraine, Naomi and Walter.

She is survived by her five children: Milton D. Locke, Jr. and his wife Wendy of Pittsfield, Cindy Moore and her husband Dennis of Loudon, Tina Wells and her husband Kevin of Loudon, Donna Locke and her longtime companion Aime Francoeur of Manchester and Christopher Locke of Pittsfield.  She leaves three siblings: Beverly Price, Doris Gerlack and Kevin Joy all of Pittsfield.  She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
