PEMBROKE- Mr. George M. Charlton, 79, of Pembroke, passed away on September 24, 2021 at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Home in Derry after a period of declining health.
Born in Scituate, MA George was the son of the late James and Marion (Perry) Charlton. He was raised and educated in the Penacook area and resided there for most of his life before settling in Pembroke.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Shaw’s Supermarkets for 33 years. He also spent many years employed by the State of New Hampshire as a maintenance worker.
George was an avid fan of John Wayne and enjoyed western movies. He also liked to fish and hunt.
He was predeceased by his son, George Charlton, Jr. and his siblings: Joyce, Linda, Bob and Charlie.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jill (Quinzani) Charlton; his children: Tammy Duncan and her husband Kenneth of TX, Deborah Charlton of CO, Katherine Peyton and her husband Kevin of OH and Angela Charlton of Pembroke; his siblings: Bill, David, Jimmy, Carol, Louis and Kenny; his two grandchildren: Bobby and Matt; one great grandson, Rayden and numerous nieces and nephews.
A simple burial ceremony will be held on Monday, October 4th at 11 A.M. in Maple Grove Cemetery in Concord. In lieu of flowers, donations in George’s memory may be sent to the Granite VNA, 30 Pillsbury St. Concord, NH 03301 or to your favorite wildlife preserve.
