Cheryl Shepard Obituary

MANCHESTER – Cheryl A. Shepard, 67, of Manchester, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, after a short illness in her home with her family by her side. She was born on June 25, 1956, in Goffstown, NH, to the late Robert I. & Bertha E. (Twombly) Luicha of Manchester, NH.

Cheryl was passionate about exploring new places, venturing from the West Coast to the East Coast and into Canada. Colorado held a special place in her heart for its breathtaking views, but riding horses was her passion, and she didn’t hesitate when she got the opportunity to trek the land by horseback and get a taste of ranch life. She also fulfilled a lifelong dream to journey to Michigan and stay at the Grand Hotel from the movie "Somewhere in Time." Her adventure saw no bounds with ATVing, boating, and thrifting, but camping became a cherished activity with her husband and family. Upon her return from these adventures, she eagerly shared her experiences. She had a passion for books that, at one point, she had EVERY Harlequin book and read them all.

Cheryl’s love for animals formed her career as a dog groomer, where she successfully established her own business, finding fulfillment in a profession she loved and excelled at. Her keen eye for detail became a valued asset when she transitioned into quality control later in her career.

Our family relied on her remarkable sewing skills, which saw no bounds as she did everything, from buttons and zippers to boat seat covers and formal gowns, stitching, mending, or hemming. Her expertise was unwavering; we could always count on her to skillfully attend to our sewing needs. Ultimately, this reflected her love and support for her family, always ready to be there, extending a helping hand or a listening ear whenever we needed it.

Cheryl is survived by her cherished husband, Wayne Shepard, who was her devoted companion for 51 years. She leaves behind two daughters, Vanessa Webb and her husband, Michael Webb, residing in Goffstown, NH, and Rebecca Shepard, with her partner, Jim Baker, from Weare, NH. Her legacy extends to grandchildren Alyssa Ramirez, Owen Slade, Alexis Slade, Chelsea Rivers, Bryan Webb, and Dominique Webb. Among the great-grandchildren are Levi, Kendal, Colby, and Charlie. She is also survived by her brother, Russell Luicha of Manchester, NH, and her sister, Beverly Luicha of Goffstown, NH. She is fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews.
