Charles R. Messler

CONCORD – Charles R. Messler, 90, of Concord, NH formerly of Pembroke, NH and NJ, passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 surrounded by his family at Concord Hospital.

Born on September 1, 1930 in Watchung, NJ, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Mary (Scott) Messler.

Charles proudly served his country in the United States Army and following his honorable discharge, he worked for many years as a bank teller where he met his wife, Doris. He later went to work as a Milkman for Tuscan Dairy Farms for over 33 years until his retirement. Charles enjoyed outdoor activities such as skiing, going to the beach, playing golf as well as doing work around his home and yard. He spent most of his life in North Plainfield, NJ, Scotch Plains, NJ and New Bern, NC.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Doris (Caul) Messler of Concord, NH with whom he shared over 60 years of marriage; his daughters, Patricia Glynn of Manalapan, NJ, Martha Brown and her husband Eric of Concord, NH and Amy Messler and her husband Douglas Borelli of Lopatchong, NJ; his sisters, Ann Messler of Bethlehem, PA, Barbara Messler of Bethlehem, PA and Kathleen Piersza and her husband Dennis of Bath, PA.  He also leaves his grandchildren, Jason Glynn and his wife Diana, Katy Tillman and her husband Mike, Meghan Straughn and her husband Tim, Kyle Brown and his wife Larissa, Colin Brown and his wife Danielle and Spencer Borelli; and his great grandchildren, Joseph, Amelia, Nora, Connor, Layla and one more on the way.

In accordance with his wishes, there are no services. There has been a family celebration of his life as an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

The Petit-Roan Funeral Home in Pembroke is assisting the family with arrangements.
