ALLENSTOWN- Roland L. Patten, Sr., 73, of Allenstown, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 17, 2018.

Born on November 16, 1944 in Laconia, NH, he was one of nine children born to Claude and Barbara (Dow) Patten.

Roland was educated in the local schools where he attended Tilton-Northfield High School. During his early years he was known for raising sled dogs, racing cars and rebuilding engines. Mr. Patten was extremely gifted when it came to working with his hands and using his imagination to build different things, his love for woodworking and engraving was known to many people. He was a loving and gracious person, always thanking anyone who helped him. His enjoyment of country music and karaoke will be missed but remembered fondly. His love for his children will never be forgotten.

Besides his parents, Roland was predeceased by one son, Robert Patten, two grandchildren, Kaila Murphy and Cyler Koehler, three siblings, Ernestine Boyton, Albert Patten and Luella Patten.

He is survived by his children, Mickey Patten, Richard Patten, Tonya Zuppelli and her fiancé Dan Nadeau, Ginga Murphy and her husband Patrick, Roland (Bub) Patten, Jr of Belmont, Michael Patten and his wife Laurel of Gilmanton and Ronald Judd and his wife Lisa of Laconia; his siblings, Beverly Taylor of FL, Gloria Coffin and her husband Roland of Belmont, Sonny Claude Patten and his wife Norma of Belmont, Ruby Horn and her husband Alvin of TN and Roy Patten of VT, several grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
