PEMBROKE- Mr. Harold A. “Buddy” Breed, 89, of Pembroke, passed away at the Merrimack County Nursing Home on April 21, 2018 after a period of declining health.
Born in Lynn, MA, he was the son of the late Alice (Ford) Lyon.
He enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country during World War II as a pilot and Fireman Apprentice. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as an auto mechanic for South Main Service in Concord for many years. He also worked as a dairy and horse farmer. He continued his love of horses throughout his life and also enjoyed flying airplanes and his antique cars. He was especially proud of his 1957 Lincoln Mark II, having entered it into the Concord Parade and other local parades. He was a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club.
Buddy was predeceased by his beloved wife, Barbara A. (Soule) Breed and his son, Allen R. Breed.
He is survived by his daughter, Denice D. Noel of Pembroke; his grandchildren, Kelley A. Noel and Kyle L. Noel; and his two great grandchildren, Morgan A. Noel and Mason C. Noel.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no calling hours and a private graveside service will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Pembroke. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be sent to the American Red Cross, 2 Maitland St. Concord, NH 03301. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Petit-Roan Funeral Home in Pembroke.
