There is no one like your first real "best friend." For half a century, Cathy LeBlanc Elliott was mine. We became BFFs at the age of 11 in Miss Pooler's fifth grade class. Throughout Middle School and High School, we shared the happiness, hope and heartbreak of adolescence. I have so many, many wonderful memories of our childhood adventures.

Cathy had a wicked sense of humor and we laughed a LOT! She also had the kindest heart of anyone I've ever known. I will never forget her sunny smile, her love of animals, her passion for music and her enthusiasm for life. I was there the day she met her beloved husband, Frank Elliott. Their relationship was truly unique and special.

In recent years, Cathy and I were separated by 3,000 miles. But we never lost touch. In fact, I'd just received my annual Christmas card from her. When she died, a part of me died with her.

Sending my love to her sister Diane, her brothers Rick and Chuck and their families. You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time.

Cathy was a caring , kind, compassionate person. Although stubborn at times, she was always hard working and willing to help in any way. There's defnetly an empty spot in the kitchen, where Cathy would work at the cavern. Wish there was more we could've done for,you girl....rest peacefully...til we meet again. Our thoughts and prayers are with the, family and friends who loved her dearly.

Cathy was a dear friend, with a love of animals and of course her garden. She will be missed by many. Safe journey my friend.
