EPSOM – Alfred “Fred” Winzer, Jr. of Epsom, formerly of Connecticut, passed away unexpectedly on Monday September 10, 2018 at his residence.
Born on March 28, 1966 in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of Patricia (Halitsky) Winzer and the late Alfred Winzer, Sr.
Fred worked for himself for as an electrician for many years and loved the act of restoration. His home was his space for tinkering and imagingin for the future. His passion for the outdoors burned inside of him and he was happiest fishing, tending his vegetable gardens, and taking his beloved dogs Dempsey and Blu on hikes or down to the river. When he wanted a break from his quiet life he did so through visits to Europe, road trips across the U.S. and always looked for that new spot to explore.
He was especially happy if a concert was waiting for him at the end of a long flight and traveled to see many of his favorite bands, saving all his ticket stubs along the way, as a way of honoring the musicians he enjoyed jamming out too. A prankster at heart, his jokes and shenanigans have left us with countless memories overflowing with laughter and love.
He is survived by his mother Patricia Winzer of Milford, CT; his brothers, Joseph Winzer and his wife Allyson of Orange, CT and Timothy Winzer of Milford, CT; his partner Jeanne Mauri of Epsom, his step daughter, Steph Camerone of Lincoln, NE, his nephews Jack and Cooper Winzer as well as many other family members.
There are no calling hours. A service in Connecticut will be held at the convenience of his family. The Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home is assisting the family with arrangements. To share a memory or offer a condolence, please visit www.stilloaks.com
