Michael McGourty

ALLENSTOWN- Mr. Michael McGourty, 52, of Allenstown, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness.

Born in Concord, Michael was the son of John J. and Louise (Robinson) McGourty of Allenstown.  He was raised and educated in Epsom, was a graduate of Pembroke Academy and had resided here his entire life.

In earlier years, Michael was involved with various sports and the Boy Scouts.  More recently, Michael had worked for Oxy-Gon Industries and Kitchen Klean both of Epsom as well as carpentry for the Epoch Homes Corp. in Concord.

Michael took great pride in his landscaping and maintaining the grounds and pool at his home.  He enjoyed watching the Patriots and Red Sox.  Above all else, he cherished the time spent with his many dear friends.  He will be lovingly remembered as a good friend to many, willing to help in any way he could.

He was predeceased by his brother, Tom McGourty.

In addition to his parents, he survived by his brother, Jackson McGourty of Epsom and Jana Bunker of Barnstead.  He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and so many dear friends that meant so much to him.  He always looked forward to the annual family gathering on Labor Day Weekend.

Calling Hours will be held on Friday, December 8th from 4 to 7 P.M. in the Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway in Epsom.  His Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 9th at 11 A.M. in the New Rye Congregational Church, 289 New Rye Rd. in Epsom.  Burial will take place in Vermont at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael’s memory may be sent to the Payson Center for Cancer Care, 250 Pleasant St. Concord, NH 03301.  To share a memory or offer a condolence, please visit www.stilloaks.com
