Joan Buttignol Obituary

CHICHESTER- Mrs. Joan (Sterling) Buttignol, 81, of West Winfield NY, passed away on March 30, 2018 with her family in Chichester NH, after a brief illness.

Her loves in life were family, friends, her pets, nature and reading. She worked at the Mount Markham School district and taught for over 35 years.  She shared her love for books and reading to so many, and loved to read to children!  In her last few years, while she was in NH with family, she started a book group in the town library & participated often.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Rugiero Buttignol, wonderful companion dog Nina, & her ever naughty cat Abby.

She is survived by son, Roger Buttignol and his wife Gina of Colorado, daughter Valerie Fradette and her husband Steven of NH, 3 beautiful granddaughters of NY, 2 grandsons of NH and her 9 great grandchildren.  The family would like to thank the selfless caregivers who helped her enjoy life.

A Celebration of life will be held in New York this summer.  Please contact the family for details.  Assisting the family with arrangements is the Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home in Epsom.  In lieu of flowers please think of a donation to her beloved West Winfield library.  To share a memory or offer a condolence, please visit www.stilloaks.com
