ALLENSTOWN- Mr. Edward Everett Greenlaw, 92, of Allenstown, passed away on May 9, 2017 in the care of the New Hampshire Veterans Home.

Born in Melrose, MA, Edward was the son of the late Stanley and Charlotte (McFarland) Greenlaw.  He was raised and educated in Melrose.  He then enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country during World War II aboard the USS Emmons, which was later sunk by the Japanese.

Prior to his retirement at age 62, Ed spent nearly 40 years as an engineer for the B & M Railroad.  He was a member of the Hooksett-ites, the USS Emmons Reunion Team and a life member of the VFW.  He enjoyed square-dancing, photography and traveling.

Ed was predeceased by his brother and sister, Parker M. Greenlaw and Elaine Leonard.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Evelyn F. (Ferrara) Greenlaw.  He was the father to Edward E. Greenlaw, Jr. and his wife Marguerite of Whitman, MA, Patricia Ann Neff and her husband Paul of West Branch, MI, and Linda J. LeFave and her husband Richard of Voluntown, CT.  He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Calling Hours will be held on Friday, May 12th from 3 to 6 P.M. in the Petit-Roan Funeral Home 167 Main St. in Pembroke.  Following cremation, burial will take place on Wednesday, May 17th at 11 A.M. at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen, NH.  In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Ed’s memory may be sent to the New Hampshire Veterans Home, 139 Winter St. Tilton, NH 03276.  To share a memory or offer a condolence, please visit www.petitroan.com
